About Us

Welcome to The Glass Slipper. Serving the dance community in Oregon since 1989, The Glass Slipper has three locations. Our main store is in NE Portland with a huge variety of dance shoes for every type of dancer, beginner thru advanced. We are also in the process of opening a store in Beaverton where we carry a wide variety of Ballroom, Swing, Salsa and Tango shoes. (Days and hours have not been determined. Please call before coming.) Besides these two stores, we do have our SW Portland store available by appointment. We also travel the Northwest with shoes to a variety of dance festivals and competitions (please view our Calendar of Events).

Our satellite store in Corvallis primarily serves the ballet, tap and jazz community, however we do have a good selection of ballroom and swing shoes as well. And if you are in Orange County, California, we also carry a very good selection of ballroom dance shoes. Available for fitting by appointment.

The Glass Slipper imports shoes from Germany being Oregon’s exclusive distributor for Diamant Dance Shoes; and the Northwest’s exclusive distributor of Werner Kern and Bleyer Swing Shoes. We also import Supadance and Ray Rose shoes from England and carry a selection of International and Freed dance shoes (England), Neuva Epoca (Italian), Anna Kern, Coast and Glide (U.S. made), Burju, Stephanie, Go Go, Very Fine, So Danca, Capezio, Bloch, Grishko, as well as others.

The Glass Slipper has also become the Northwest distributor of Evenin' Star Dance Boots. We have a good selection of boots in leather and lycra (both weltless and welted) available in the NE Portland location.

We believe in carrying the best and only sell shoes from manufacturers who maintain the highest standards in workmanship and materials and who stand 100% behind their products, making happy customers. We have personally visited the U.S. factory and the German factories and can appreciate the craftsmanship and quality of work that goes into the production of each and every shoe.

Proper dance shoes are hand made, have a steel shank, are light weight, made of very fine leather or material, comfortable insoles, and heels ranging from flat to 3-1/2” with many different shapes and sizes and colors to choose from. Please be patient with the 4-6 week delivery time and remember, “this shoe is being made just for you!” If you do not want to wait for an order, you can always stop in/or call one of our stores and purchase what we have in inventory right off the shelf.
